The day
Your day, step by step
-
10 hours Orchards, a distillery and a village lunch
Leave Belgrade in the morning by the motorway to the south and climb into the hills around Rudnik, one of the plum-growing areas of Šumadija. Walk with your guide along farm tracks through the orchards and learn which varieties go into rakija. At a registered distillery you see the fermentation vats and the copper still (in operation on some days only) and taste a selection of plum and other fruit rakijas. Lunch is in a village restaurant, with Šumadija dishes and seasonal fruit. Return to Belgrade in the early evening.
