Balkan Tours from Belgrade

Journeys that start in Serbia and continue across the Western Balkans: Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Albania and Bulgaria. Private and small-group journeys, priced on request.

Private and small-group journeys that start in Serbia. Price on request: a personal written offer first.

Why start in Serbia

One route, several countries, and time for each of them

Most Balkan tours give Belgrade one night and hurry to the coast. Ours start in Serbia, then cross the mountains into Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and further south, at a pace that leaves room for each place.

  • Serbia Where every journey starts: Belgrade on its two rivers, the western mountains and the Šargan Eight railway.
  • North Macedonia
  • Montenegro Durmitor’s peaks and the Tara canyon, then down through the karst to the Bay of Kotor.
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina The bridge on the Drina at Višegrad, Sarajevo, Mostar and the quiet towns of Herzegovina.
  • Croatia Dubrovnik’s walled old town on the Adriatic, at the end of the road.

Good to know

How travelling across borders works with us

  • Borders and documents

Entry rules depend on your passport and change from time to time; Croatia is in the EU and the Schengen area. We check the rules for your nationality before confirming. Driving times do not include border waits.

  • Local licensed guides

Licensed local guides join you in the cities where local rules require them. Some journeys are run by licensed partner operators: your written offer always names the organiser responsible for your trip.

  • Price on request

Every journey is priced for your dates, group and hotels. You receive a personal written offer first, with nothing to pay until you accept.

  • Your way round

Private journeys can run in reverse, start or end in another city, or add days; small-group departures follow their published route. Tell us what you have in mind.

Tailor-made

Your own Balkan route

Different countries, more days on the coast, or Serbia first and the Adriatic later? Tell us your dates and ideas and we send a route and a written offer.

Partner enquiry

Frequently asked questions

Are the Balkan journeys private or group tours?

Both. Most journeys are private, on your dates; some run on fixed dates in small groups. Each journey page shows which. Some journeys are organised by Travel2Serbia and others by licensed partner operators: your written offer names the organiser responsible for your trip.

Which countries can I combine?

Our journeys start in Serbia and continue into Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Albania and Bulgaria. We can also plan other combinations on request.

Do I need a visa?

It depends on your passport and on each country you enter. Croatia is in the EU and the Schengen area, and rules can change. We check the rules for your nationality before confirming; you remain responsible for your travel documents.

Can I start in Dubrovnik, Kotor or Sarajevo instead?

Private journeys can usually run in reverse or start and end in another city; small-group departures follow their published route. Tell us your arrival and departure points.

How much does a Balkan journey cost?

Every journey is priced on request for your dates, group size and hotels. You receive a personal written offer first, with nothing to pay until you accept.

Are border waits included in the driving times?

No. Driving times are estimates without border waits, which can be long in summer, especially when entering the EU. We plan crossings early in the day.
