10 hours Vršac, Gudurica and the Banat vineyards
Leave Belgrade in the morning and cross the Danube into the Banat plain. In Vršac, drive up to the tower on the hill attributed to Despot Đurađ Branković (inside visits subject to opening) for the view over the vineyards, then walk the town centre with your guide: the Bishop's Palace, St Nicholas's Cathedral and the streets of the old wine town. After a free lunch in town, continue into the hills to Gudurica for tastings at two family-run wineries, each with a plate of local cheese and charcuterie. Return to Belgrade in the evening.

Signature moments
A tower above the vines
From the hill above Vršac the vineyards run down towards the plain, and on clear days the view reaches the hills of Romania.
At the family table
Small wineries pour their own wines and explain the year in the vineyard, often with the family that makes them.

Before you choose
Is this day for you?
A good fit if
Wine lovers, travellers who have already seen Belgrade and Novi Sad, and anyone who wants a quiet day in the countryside about two hours from the capital.
Maybe not if
Guests under 18 who will not taste (a non-alcoholic version is possible but less rewarding), and travellers looking for big-name estates and formal cellar tours.
Pace and effort
About ten hours, with about 2–2½ hours' drive each way across the Banat plain (about 5 hours on the road in all, with the short drive to Gudurica). Easy walking in town; the path to the tower is short but steep.
