Before you choose
Is this journey for you?
A good fit if
Music lovers, travellers who enjoy big, loud street festivals, and groups of friends who want to see Serbian brass at its home.
Maybe not if
Travellers who dislike crowds, loud music late into the night, heat and plenty of alcohol; vegetarians may find the festival food limited.
Pace and effort
Classic, with late nights. About 2¾ hours of driving each way between Belgrade and the Čačak area, and about 45 minutes each way between Čačak and Guča, longer in festival traffic. Lots of standing and walking in crowds.
Tailor-made
Make it your own
An extra night in Čačak to stay until the festival's last evening · A monastery in the Ovčar-Kablar gorge on the way back · Studenica and Žiča on the way home (one more night).
