Day 1 Golubac and Lepenski Vir
Drive east from Belgrade to Golubac for a guided visit of the fortress. Follow the Danube into the gorge to Lepenski Vir, a riverside settlement of hunter-fishers from about 9500–5500 BC, known for its trapezoid houses and fish-faced sculptures, then on to Donji Milanovac for the night.

Day 2 By boat through the narrows, back to Belgrade
A morning boat through the Kazan narrows, the deepest and narrowest part of the gorge, to see Trajan's Tablet from the water. Continue by road to Kladovo for the Fetislam fortress and the remains of the Roman fort Diana, then return to Belgrade.
