Day 1 Belgrade to Tara
Leave Belgrade in the morning and drive west to Tara National Park, arriving in time for a first short walk in the forest around Kaluđerske Bare.

Day 2 Banjska stena and the Drina canyon
A full day on the Tara plateau: forest trails to the Banjska stena viewpoint above the Drina canyon and on to Kozja stena. Picnic lunch on the way.

Day 3 Zaovine Lake and the Pančić spruce
Walk through forests of the rare Pančić spruce to the shores of Zaovine Lake, with a transfer back to your guesthouse.

Day 4 The Šargan Eight and Mokra Gora
Drive to Mokra Gora and ride the Šargan Eight narrow-gauge railway. Walk up through meadows to Drvengrad, then on to Zlatibor for the night.

Day 5 Zlatibor villages and Sirogojno
A walk across the rolling hills of Zlatibor between villages and pastures to the open-air museum of Sirogojno, known for its knitted wool.

Transfer back from Sirogojno. About 12 km on grassy paths and quiet roads.

Day 6 The Uvac meanders
Drive to Nova Varoš. A boat on the Uvac lake (season and weather permitting) and a walk up to the Molitva viewpoint over the meanders, watching for griffon vultures.

At Banjska stena the forest ends at a cliff, with the Drina almost 800 metres below.
